Governor Mike DeWine visited the MOV ESC Driving School earlier today. Established through a consortium between the Muskingum Valley ESC and the Ohio Valley ESC, the school provides Driver Education to high school students whose districts participate in the program. Representatives from the Governor’s Office recognized the MOV ESC Driving School as one of Ohio’s top programs. The Ohio Valley ESC was represented at the event by Superintendent Dalton Summers and Dr. Richard Hall, Director of Driver Education and Special Projects.

In his recently released Executive Budget, Governor DeWine proposed allocating $19,980,000 in FY 2026 and $29,600,000 in FY 2027 to fund grants for school-based Driver Training Education programs. His visit focused on understanding how the MOV ESC Driving School expands access to Driver Education in rural areas while maintaining affordability for families and the capacity to serve a large number of students.
