OVESC Receives Auditor of State Award for 13th Consecutive Year

The Ohio Valley Educational Service Center (OVESC) has once again demonstrated excellence in financial accountability and transparency by receiving the prestigious Auditor of State Award. This marks the 13th consecutive year OVESC has earned this recognition, reflecting its ongoing commitment to responsible financial management.

The Auditor of State Award is presented to entities that meet stringent criteria for a “clean” audit report. To qualify, OVESC successfully filed financial reports on time via the Hinkle System using the GAAP accounting basis. Additionally, the audit report contained no findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, or questioned costs under Uniform Guidance (Single Audit). Furthermore, the management letter included no comments related to ethics referrals, untimely report submission, bank reconciliation issues, or public records concerns.

The most recent award reflects OVESC’s audit for the fiscal years ending June 30, 2022, and June 30, 2023. By consistently maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity, OVESC ensures that resources are managed effectively to best serve students, educators, and communities.

This achievement underscores OVESC’s dedication to accountability and transparency. The continued recognition from the Auditor of State’s Office is a testament to the hard work and diligence of the OVESC financial team and leadership.

Congratulations to OVESC on this well-earned honor!
