The Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center (MVESC) has been awarded the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) Southeast Region’s Outstanding New Program or Innovation Award for its Driver Education program, the Muskingum Ohio Valley Educational Service Center Driving School (MOV ESC Driving School).
In partnership with the Ohio Valley Educational Service Center (OVESC), the MVESC developed the MOV ESC Driving School, offering high-quality, safety-focused driver education to students across Ohio.
MVESC Superintendent Lori Snyder-Lowe expressed pride in the program, saying, “We are incredibly proud of the MVESC Driver Education program and the MOV ESC Driving School and the positive impact it’s having on Ohio’s students. As the first of its kind in the state, it’s truly deserving of this recognition.”
Since its inception, the MOV ESC Driving School has partnered with 30 districts and certified over 1,600 students. Its success is due to the efforts of a dedicated team, including Ohio Valley’s Richard Hall, MVESC’s Director of Workforce Eastin Lewellen, and instructors Homer Weekley and Stephen Michel.
Awardees will be honored at the OSBA Southeast Region’s Fall Conference on Thursday, September 26, at Logan High School, where they will receive certificates recognizing their contributions to education.
