TEACHING TO THE FUTURE: How we serve your child
We believe that young children learn best through experience and hands-on learning in a play based environment. Through the state Comprehensive Literacy grant, our preschool program has gained knowledge and expertise in teaching early literacy skills that ensure that your child has a strong foundation for beginning their school career.
We utilize the Creative Curriculum, as well as the OSU Read It Again literacy supplement to begin that critical literacy development. We also implement daily lessons with the HEGGERTY program to support literacy growth. Partnering with OSU, we now use the Read It Again program for social emotional growth and coming soon…Read it Again for math! All of these supplements use reading as the foundation for teaching early learning skills.
Our lessons are structured each day to teach routine, self-care, and independence. Specialized services will be provided to students with identified needs or an IEP.
Our teachers and staff train monthly to learn current teaching strategies that help your young child gain the skills needed to be a strong, independent learner. Our goal is to partner with you and your home school district to prepare your child for kindergarten.
Special Education
If a family suspects their preschool child may have a delay in one of the following areas, our staff will listen and work with you to navigate the referral process for special education services.
- Speech and language skills
- Fine or gross motor skills
- Vision or hearing loss
- Adaptive and social/behavioral skills
- Any developmental delay
If the child qualifies for services in any of these areas, they may receive special education services provided by the Bright Beginnings Preschool staff. Location for those services may vary, based on the decision of the IEP team. For additional guidance, families may also refer to the Guide to Parents Rights in Special Education.
*You must live in one of the school districts outlined in our locations below, to initiate the special education referral with the OVESC.
